Benefits
LSS offers competitive compensation that is based upon experience and education. In addition, LSS' benefit plans begin the first of the month following 90 days of service, unless otherwise specified. The benefits given below apply to regular, full-time employees or regular, part-time employees who routinely work at least 30 hours per week. Note that LSS reserves the right to amend or terminate any benefit at any time.

Health Care Flexible Spending Account

Eligible January 1, following insurance effective date.

Reimburses eligible medical/dental/vision/hearing expenses not covered by insurance with money deducted pre-tax from paychecks.
-
Maximum annual deferral amount is $2,600 per employee.

Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account
-
Eligible after 30 days of service.
-
Reimburses eligible dependent care expenses with money deducted pre-tax from your paycheck.
-
Maximum annual deferral amount is $5,000 per family.

Dental Insurance
-
Annual maximum benefit of $1,500 per person.
-
Plan pays 100 percent, 80 percent or 50 percent of reasonable and customary charges, depending on the type of service.

LSS pays 75 percent of the monthly cost for this coverage.

Contributions are deducted from employees' paychecks on a pre-tax basis.

Health Insurance

LSS pays the following of the monthly premium:

Contributions are deducted from employees' paychecks on a pre-tax basis.

LSS contributes to a Health Savings Account (HSA) to help offset the eligible expenses applied towards the deductible.

Term Life Insurance
-
Employee life insurance benefit is two times the base annual earnings. Maximum benefit is $300,000. Coverage for spouse is $2,500. Coverage for each dependent child is $1,000.

Accidental Death & Dismemberment Benefit for employees only; equal to the life benefit; paid in the event of accidental death.

LSS pays premiums for all life and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.

Supplemental Life Insurance
-
Optional supplemental life insurance. Employee's election may be up to three times annual salary with a maximum of $500,000.
-
Optional spousal coverage may be 50 percent of employee's election with a guaranteed issue amount of $30,000.
-
Optional dependent coverage available for $10,000 per dependent.

Long-Term Disability Insurance
-
Pays 60-percent of base salary after three months of total disability.
-
LSS pays the cost of this coverage.

Short-Term Disability Insurance
-
Pays 60-percent of base salary after two-week elimination period.

LSS pays the cost of this coverage.

Paid Holidays
-
LSS has nine standard holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday (Observance), Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Full-time employees earn two "personal holidays" of their choosing each year.

Part-time, benefit-eligible employees earn one "personal holiday" of their choosing each year.

Part-time, benefit-eligible employees who routinely work 30 or more hours per week are eligible for paid holidays pro-rated as a percent of full-time equivalency (FTE)

Paid Sick Time
-
Sick days accrue with each month worked (2.47 hours bi-weekly for full-time employees, pro-rated for part-time employees).

Can accumulate from year to year to a 240 hours maximum (6 full-time weeks).

Part-time, benefit-eligible employees who routinely work 30 or more hours per week have their paid sick time accruals pro-rated as a percent of full-time equivalency (FTE).

Paid Vacation Time
-
Paid vacation time is available to regular employees who work between 30 and 40 hours per week. The amount of time accrued is based upon the average number of hours worked, whether salaried or hourly, and length of continuous benefit eligible service.

New staff accrue vacation beginning the first of the month following 90 days of employment. Vacation pay is based on wages in effect of the first day of the vacation. Vacation is accrued on a bi-weekly basis.

Can carry over unused vacation into the next calendar year with some limits.

Vacation schedule for full-time employees is as follows:

Section 529 Education Savings Plan

Employees are able to deposit a specified amount into an education savings account every pay period through payroll deductions.

This plan is intended to help pay for post-high school education for employees or their dependents and has very attractive tax advantages for Wisconsin residents.

Vision Discount Plan

LSS offers a vision hardware discount card available to employees for a nominal annual membership fee.
